Improvisation and Storytelling

Last night I went to a fantastic gathering of improvisers who use improv games in their consulting work to businesses. I met them through the Applied Improvisation Network (http://appliedimprov.ning.com/ ). Fun and fascinating!

Many improv games are designed to give us an opportunity to step outside of the stories we usually live: Stories of what our role in a group should be, of what’s appropriate behavior, of how we allow ourselves to interact with others. Just that little step out of the old rules shifts our entire point of view–and that frees us to start living new stories. So exciting!
